NeuroSky partners see how BCI enhances their products’ user experience and the competitive advantage it provides. They are free to define their own roles, distribution, and business model for implementing BCI into their market space.

BCI Requires a Value Chain
Our partners fall into several developer categories; applications, mental state algorithms and end-user devices.

As a partner, you can either bring a product directly to the customer or market it in conjunction with NeuroSky, through our online store, to distribute your applications or algorithms.

Three Partnership Models:
1)       Form Factor Creation – Design your own product (typically a headset, earbud, headband, helmet, etc.) that utilizes our ThinkGear technology. Mattel MindFlex and Uncle Milton’s Force Trainer are two such examples.

2)       Resale – For partners who are primarily interested in application development and prefer not to build their own stand-alone hardware, we offer the NeuroSky MindSet. We have an affiliate program available for partners to sell through their sales and web efforts.

3)       NeuroSky Store – By utilizing our development tools (the MDT SDK) partners can create a variety of applications that can be distributed through the NeuroSky Store.

Our Business Model
We license our technology to developers, researchers and manufacturing OEM’s who integrate our chip, sensor and headset module technology into their own solutions. We also distribute applications, products and mental state algorithms on our store.

Developer Coding Ingredients
NeuroSky BCI is made possible through the MindKit Developer Package, which includes a MindSet brainwave acquisition headset and the MindSet Development Tools (MDT). App developers have access to the NeuroSky Online Store, where end-user applications are sold to other MindSet owners. We work with app developers on pricing, positioning and reviewing all apps for quality and appropriateness.

The MDT provides the drivers, API, libraries, documentation, support, and examples you’ll need to write your own applications. The API is designed to make it quick and easy for you to retrofit existing games to add BCI capabilities, or to create entirely new games based on brainwaves and mental states.

Hardware Technology Ingredients
ThinkGear is our family of components that drive BCI for hardware commercialization. Our product line includes everything from chips to headsets. Our ThinkGear technology includes a single dry (no gel or saline required) sensor that rests comfortably on the subject’s forehead and connects to a typical PC for data collection. Our ASIC is a programmable chip that can integrate into any BCI form factor, combined for a multi-sensor solution, with an option to hard code to protect your IP. The MindSet is a brainwave interface headset with medical-grade data acquisition for research or consumer use. It leverages Bluetooth for ultimate mobility and includes both audio and voice support in addition to core BCI capabilities.
